The Minister of State for Science and Technology, Jitendra Singh, announced that India's first crewed space mission is in its final stage, with the first flight scheduled for the first quarter of 2027. According to Singh, this program represents India's growth as a global space power, based on national technology, fiscal responsibility, and visionary political leadership. In a statement in New Delhi, the minister emphasized that India is working to achieve two significant goals: to establish the Indian Space Station by 2035 and to send the first Indian astronaut to the Moon by 2040.
On the other hand, it was mentioned that the designated Indian astronauts have completed their training in Russia and are now in a more specific training phase in India. Additionally, the Indian Department of Space issued a statement highlighting that the country's space program is a powerful symbol of long-term aspirations in space, both from an economic and strategic perspective.
